HARI wins HMC Global Distributor of The Year award during the Hyundai Global Distributor's Conference in Banff, Canada

Hyundai registers a modest 3% increase in y-t-d sales accounting to a total of 6,419 vehicle units with an uptrend for its fuel-saving vehicles in its latest sales report - the Accent and Sonata models under the Passenger Car (PC) segment, and the Santa Fe, Tucson, and Grand Starex units for the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category. For the month of April, with a total of 1,707 units sold, Hyundai sales growth resulted in a 5% boost versus the month of March.

Hyundai trail blazes run of the decade with the Hyundai RUN for a Cause, an acronym for Responsibility, Unity and Nation-building, is the country's first ever automotive-sponsored running event and champions causes and non-government organizations close to HARI's heart, namely the Gawad Kalinga Center for Social Innovation supporting entrepreneurial dynamism, St. Scholastica's Priory propagating women's health and well-being, Habitat for Humanity to build homes for the poor, and the Haribon Foundation for environmental youth education. A sea of over 24,000 runners, comprised of Hyundai aficionados, health buffs, athletes, students, nature lovers, young professionals, families, and more traversed the 5K and 10K route that started at the historic Quirino Grandstand and wound its way back from Roxas Boulevard.

 

Sales for the month of March increases by 6% versus its 1,538 unit sales in the previous month. Contributing to the total sales boost of Hyundai in the month of March was the recently introduced Hyundai Accent which grew by 203% in comparison to its February unit sales. In the LCV segment, Tucson sales grew by 88% and the Santa Fe by 89% while the H-100 contributed its share with a 43% increase.

 

First quarter sales of Hyundai are again positive as it posts a modest 3% increase in sales versus the 4,572 unit sales that it gained in the same period last year. The passenger car segment, led by the Hyundai Accent and the Getz, drove 1st quarter sales with an 18% growth, with the Hyundai Santa Fe and Grand Starex contributing to the sales growth in the LCV segment.

 

Hyundai unveils the All-New Elantra at the 7th Manila International Auto Show, attended by His Excellency Lee Hye-Min, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to the Philippines, representatives of the Asia & Pacific Regional Headquarters of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), HARI VIPs, media delegates, and over 1,000 guests, the event also launches Hyundai's newest television advertisement entitled “Link,” as part of its awareness drive for its new brand slogan, “New Thinking. New Possibilities.”

HARI receives the prized 2010 Best in Parts Performance Award during the 2011 Asia-Pacific Parts Conference from MOBIS, the parts arm of Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort in Cambodia last April 6, 2011. HARI bested 35 other countries, reaffirming its strong foothold not only as a competitive brand in the local market, but also as an outstanding player within the global Hyundai community.

Hyundai partners with East West Banking Corporation (EWB), one of the Philippines' fastest growing commercial banks, to mount the Sonata Masterpiece Tour de Force campaign. This joint effort endeavors to bring Hyundai's globally successful mid-size sedan closer to its market via displays and test drives in key EWB branches nationwide and offer exclusive auto loan packages and premiums from March 9 to May 31, 2011.

 

Hyundai shows more resilience as one of the country's leading automotive brands, as it registers total sales of 3,079 units for the first two months of the year, up 13.4% in the same period a year earlier. This year-to-date growth was boosted by sales of the Getz, Santa Fe, and Grand Starex as well as the improved performance of the Sonata and the Grand Starex which offset the shortage in supply of the new Accent and Tucson models in February.

HARI and its 36-strong dealership network holds its first dealers' conference at The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, Asia's most exciting entertainment destinations and preeminent convention and exhibition venues. Themed “Hyundai to Higher Heights,” HARI took its annual dealer business summit to great heights as it mapped out its business strategy for dealer expansion and optimizing dealership operations in areas of sales, service, parts, information technology, marketing and customer relationship management.

 

Hyundai Alabang is hailed the Dealer of the Year for 2010 and Champion in Sales Operations.

 

Hyundai posts robust 30.4% growth based on January 2011 year-to-date sales. In the PC segment, Hyundai grows by an incredible 107% in terms of year-to-date (y-t-d) sales with the Accent continuing to make waves with an outstanding 68.6% sales growth (y-t-d) and the Getz trailblazing at a 64.5% (y-t-d) growth. The Genesis Coupe sports car was likewise unrelenting with its 100% growth. In the LCV segment, the Grand Starex passenger van starts out the year confidently with a notable 45.3% growth. In SUV segment, the Tucson roars with a 79% month-to-date sales growth while the Santa Fe poses an astounding 500% year-to-date growth.

 

Hyundai brings a delegation of Filipino motoring and business journalists to a test drive event of the all-new Accent model from February 24 to 28 in Dubai, UAE. Together with the Philippine delegation were about 130 journalists from 16 countries in various regions including Africa, the Middle East, India and the Asia-Pacific. The participants drove the new sub-compact sedan along the 400km route from Dubai to the beach of Fujairah, experiencing various road conditions such as coastal and high-speed paved roads.

Hyundai strengthens its dealership coverage with the opening of two new dealerships: Hyundai Greenhills along Ortigas Avenue and Hyundai San Pablo to serve the South Luzon area. The 35th and 36th dealerships under HARI, the official distributor of Hyundai Motor Company in the country, celebrates the official opening of Hyundai Greenhills on January 19, 2011 and on January 20, 2011 in San Pablo City, Laguna. Both dealers boast of enhanced layouts for product display and bigger service bays based on Hyundai's continuing global Dealer Enhancement Program standards. And with plans to increase its dealership locations to 44 in 2011, Hyundai takes pride in having one of the fastest-growing dealer networks in the country to serve more customers and elevate their Hyundai brand experience.

 

HARI welcomes the delegation of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. as they hold their annual National Dealer Convention, themed “Raise and Accelerate towards Competitive Excellence”, in the Philippines. Over 400 participants, consisting of top executives and dealers of HMIL, and representatives from Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai's Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters, discussed concerns on enhancing the selling experience and customer satisfaction in India in preparation for HMIL's business expansion plans and dealerships growth. HMIL is the largest passenger car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India, growing by 7.8% nationwide and registering total sales of 603,819 units in 2010.

 

HARI takes part in advocating Filipino and Korean cultural understanding through the Happy Move Global Youth Volunteers program of Hyundai Motor Company. Held at villages in Malinta, Valenzuela, student volunteers from various South Korean universities and student volunteers from different universities in Metro Manila engaged locals, especially the youth, in a cultural awareness program through arts and music activities to promote mutual learning on Korean and Filipino traditions and values, as well as teamwork. And with the aid of the Happy Move partners, volunteer teams also set off the foundation of new houses in Pinalagad Village and the renovation and extension of toilets in the public elementary school in the area.

 

HARI caps 2010 with a milestone sales record of 20,172 units, securing its place as the Top 3 in the country's automotive industry. Hyundai's December 2010 year-to-date sales show a hefty 82.0% growth, making it one of the strongest brands in the Philippine automobile market today. HARI points to the strong sales of its Passenger Car (PC) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) offerings, most notably the sales of the Accent, Tucson, Sonata, Grand Starex, Genesis Coupe, Santa Fe, and Getz, as clear indicators of Hyundai's ongoing success.
